Who can benefit from this program:

Any student from Grade 1 – Grade 7

  • students who are experiencing difficulties in reading
  • students that have not reached their potential in reading
  • students that have difficulty in one or more areas of language
    knowledge.

The Reading Centre is an exciting learning environment where children
practice reading skills in a multi-sensory approach. Each student is
tested and placed on a particular level where a program is worked
out to suit their needs. These are the reading levels for the reading
centre.

Other important activities that happen at the Centre:

  • Glucose Levels
    According to new science, evidence has shown that children need glucose to build neutrons which assists with effective learning. Children are able to help themselves to fruit in the  kitchen before starting each session.
  • Water
    It is also important for children to be properly hydrated when learning as this enables their brain to learn effectively.
  • Report system
    Termly Progress Report: Progress Report is emailed
  • Yearly Assessment
    Feedback sessions are recommended and this occurs at the end of the year. These assessments are important as it indicates the child’s progress and what we are concentrating on in the centre.
